Jason graduated University College Dublin in 2011 with a degree in Commerce and Italian. Following a year of working in the finance industry, Jason followed his passion and took up a full-time career in the bloodstock industry. Initially travelling to America to work for St George Sales and Brendan Walsh Racing, Jason then travelled to Australia working in the yearling team for Patinack Stud. In 2013 Jason returned closer to home to work for Tally Ho stud prior to joining the team at David O’Meara Racing in the summer of 2013.

As assistant trainer to David O’Meara, Jason has been responsible for the purchasing and placing of all the O’Meara horses. In that time David O’Meara has become the second fastest trainer to reach 1,000 career winners in the U.K, while top level success was claimed with G Force, Move In Time, Mondialiste, Amazing Maria, Suedois and Lord Glitters. Jason is a supporter of international racing and as such has contributed to the placing of horses winning races in Ireland, France, Qatar, North America and Dubai.

Lord Glitters and Escobar provided Jason Kelly Bloodstock purchased horses with back to back victories in Balmoral Handicap on British Champions Day while Lord Glitters won the 2019 Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.
